Meet MelissaWhen I first went to Perpetual Help Home I had no concept of grace and mercy. I had spent the majority of my adult life using drugs and going in and out of prison. I believed that my life was a lost cause and that because of drugs and choices I had made I would never be anything or anyone.
While I was there I was taught that I was worth saving.
That is the most important thing I learned. Just knowing that I was lovable by God and His people caused everything else to fall into place. When I left Perpetual Help Home I moved to Corpus Christi, Texas and married a wonderful man. I began going to college while I was at Perpetual and I transferred to Del Mar College. I am a full time college student and have a job. I never dreamed that I would be where I am today, but because of Perpetual Help Home I now know that anything is possible and I’m not afraid of success. I always knew I could fail; I had done that over and over. I have gained a confidence that used to be just out of my reach.
