CASTING HOPE
Perpetual Help Home was awarded a grant through the Swalm Foundation to help other communities design and open homes modeled after the very successful program in Victoria. The project is designed to assist communities in capacity building as well as program-specific training about the Perpetual Help Home program. The assistance takes place over a 12-month period. During that time, PHH mentors potential sites so they can develop not only a strong housing component, but also a strong healthy organization that will continue on in the future.

After 12 months, Perpetual Help Home focuses on another site with the expectation that the new facility will become the responsibility of the community that houses it.

To date, PHH has helped open homes in Alice, Texas, and Baytown, Texas.

CENTER FOR PEACE
Center for Peace The Center for Peace is an enterprise project of Perpetual Help Home that brings mediation services and training to our community while teaching the clients of PHH valuable business skills. It also facilitates our outreach programs through which our clients can give back to the community. See the Center for Peace section on this site.

CWJC
Christian Women's Job Corps Perpetual Help Home is a nationally registered Christian Women's Job Corps site. The program offers job skills and life skills training in a Christian context and is a mission where women help women.

Our residents are given this course and we also offer it to the community as an eight-week course at a local church. We use volunteers to teach the skills and to lead Bible study. The program includes training in computer skills, communication, career development, health and nutrition and personal development.

HOPE NET
Helping Women That Could Fall Through the Cracks Perpetual Help Home received a $275,000 grant from the U.S. Department of Housing and Urban Development to provide a new program that addresses women who fall through the cracks of other programs for the homeless. This project provides eight apartments in Victoria to house families and women with more severe disabilities. A staff caseworker manages Hope Net and helps the program's clients access the social services they need. When we remove the turmoil that homelessness can cause and help provide a more a structured life, these women can function at a higher level, therefore becoming more productive community members.

HMIS
The Homeless Management Information System is a community collaboration that provides case management and tracking of homeless people and people seeking assistance from social service agencies in our community. The system allows agencies to coordinate services they provided through a Web database. This project helps clients, too, by allowing agencies to maximize their resources. It also ensures there is no duplication of services and prevents clients from "working the system."

Currently, more than 10 social service agencies are managing clients through HMIS. We hope that 10 additional agencies will be added over the next 12 months.
